The Board of Guardians is an independent body comprising individuals selected for their expertise in investing in financial assets, managing investments and corporate governance.
The Board’s members are called ‘Guardians’ as part of their function is to safeguard the independence of the Future Fund.
The Board is responsible for deciding how to invest the assets of each fund, in line with the legislation and the investment mandates. They receive recommendations and advice from Management and review, approve and oversee the investment strategy.
The Board of Guardians is supported by the Future Fund Management Agency, which is an Australian Government agency.
Management comprises professionals from a range of sectors including finance, investment, legal and corporate services, who are responsible for making recommendations to the Board of Guardians on the most appropriate investment strategy for each fund, and for the implementation of these strategies.
All administrative and operational functions associated with the management of the funds are undertaken by the Agency.
