Our Public Interest Disclosure Scheme is available to ‘Public Officials’ to make public interest disclosures.

The Public Interest Disclosure Act 2013 (PID Act) provides for public officials to report wrongdoing in the Commonwealth public sector under the Public Interest Disclosure Scheme.

The PID Scheme promotes integrity and accountability in the Australian public sector by encouraging the disclosure of information about suspected wrong doing, protecting people who make a disclosure and requiring agencies to take action.

As an Australian Government agency, we are committed to supporting the scheme and have developed procedures for facilitating and investigating public interest disclosures including appointing Authorised Officers to manage and investigate disclosures.

For more information about the Public interest Disclosure Scheme and a copy of the PID Act go to the Commonwealth Ombudsman website.
